Concepts

  • Independent or Manipulated Variable: The variable that does not depend on another (x). This is what we choose to change!
  • Dependent or Responding Variable: The variable that changes as a result of another variables change (y). This changes because of the independent variable.
  • Control Variables: These do not change/are kept the same throughout an experiment
      • (Teacher may explain more in class)

Use complete sentences unless otherwise directed.

  • Think of an experiment that you have done (or could do). NOT FROM THE VIDEO
    • Explain the experiment and describe the independent variable and the dependent variable.
    • What were (or would be) the results of the experiment?
    • How did (or could) you use control variables to make your experiment better?
