  • Linear increasing/decreasing: a flat, steadily increasing/decreasing line
  • Exponential increasing/decreasing: starts to increase/decrease slowly but becomes steeper rapidly
  • No Change: a flat horizontal line
  • No Correlation: the independent variable has no effect on the dependent variable, the data appears scattered

  • Explain a situation where you might have each type of data.
    • For example, If you were testing how hyper a student gets when drinking caffeine, you might see a linear increasing line, because...
    • Provide scenarios where you would see the different trends (if you had to graph the data).
